Clare Roberts, born in 1985, is a UK based fine artist specialising in dog portraits in a classical style. Her love of dogs has led to a lifelong passion of bringing their beauty and unique characteristics into her drawings.

In 2020 Clare began studying classical realism, a traditional drawing method taught in the nineteenth century art studios of France and Italy and has been fortunate to study with the atelier of renowned equestrian artist Nichola Eddery.

Clare blends draftsmanship, knowledge of anatomy, and the power of light and shade to create a beautiful physical likeness and to capture the subject’s uniqueness in her drawings. Much of her work is created in the ancient and timeless medium of charcoal which suits this traditional method of drawing.
